All comes down to Sunday

Flyers lose 4-3.

The defense really struggled in front of Boucher tonight. Coburn had several mental lapses, Pronger mishandled a bouncing puck that lead to the GWG and Carle was his typical mediocre self.

Boucher, however, didn’t really help himself either. He made a few great saves, but also pulled a Turco and got caught thinking too much on the third goal. Bouch anticipated a wrap around, failing to realize the puck was already in front of the net.

The captain played a very strong game tonight. Richards got the scoring started early after intercepting a pass in the Rangers zone and beating Lundqvist with a high wrister. Richards went onto tie the game at three a piece in the second period after a brilliant outlet pass by Pronger.

Hartnell once again hurt the team tonight by taking moronic and selfish penalties. I’m still scratching my head as to why he continues to be in the lineup while Leino is in the box.

Carter look pretty decent in his return, nothing spectular, but pretty much as good as you could expect from a player missing almost three weeks of action.

Overall, this was just another 40 minute effort by the Flyers. Other than the Mike Richards goal less than a minute into the game the Rangers played nearly that entire first period in the Flyers zone. Then the Flyers woke up in the second and third and nearly won this game, but it just wasn’t enough.

See ya Sunday.

I cannot believe that the Flyers managed to lose this last game somehow. I am a huge Flyer fan but sitting here debating whether or not I want to see this team make the playoffs. Sad when as a fan I sit here almost wishing they dont make it. Bah humbag….We shall see
