Today Howie stepped up to the podium and announced that Andy Reid was absent from early morning workouts due to the passing of his son Garrett Reid.  First and foremost my heart and prayers go out to the Reid family and the whole Eagles organization.  Now let me say this… I do no like using […]

Flyers HUGE FA signings

Posted by fanofphilly on Thursday, July 5th, 2012

Flyers announce 2 signings today. Ruslan Fedotenko – returns back to the team but this time almost 10 years later hes coming back.  He will not be a player that will light the lamp often for us but he will bring solid depth and SIZE.  Something that we needed after losing Jagr and JVR.  Regardless […]

phiLOLies as of late

Posted by fanofphilly on Friday, May 28th, 2010

As of late the Phillies have been very LOL’able. Scoring a BLISTERING 0 runs in 3 games. And a total of 3 runs in 5 games, and those 3 came in one game alone.

The Mets just dissected the struggling Phillies making them look like the PhiLOLies. The NL champions got swept in the series without scoring a single run—it marked the first time since 1983 that Philadelphia was blanked three days in a row. Ouch right?

What was good out of this? Well the only real thing I saw that was good is the fact they ppl are still managing to get on base. While our RISP is a JOKE right now at least we are getting peeps on the bases.
Another good thing to take out of this is Cole looked really good last night. His pitches were hitting the mark and he was painting the lines last night. While it may not seem like it at all going 6 innings giving up 9 hits and a walk with 3 strike-outs. but I tell you these numbers are very deceiving. He looks a lot better then what the numbers showed. The Ump last night was very inconsistent on both sides of the ball.

The NL East has tightened up big time. With the Braves being 1.5 games back from the Phills and the Mets on our toes 2 games back while both the Nats and Marlins are 3 games back. At the beginning of the month the Phillies were the hottest team in baseball but how tides turn. Right now they have lost 7 of their last 9, OUCH! And host 3 games against the Marlins starting tonight.

Lets hope we can start to inch our way back up that standing tree all the while remaining in 1st and just separating ourselves from the rest of our division.
