The Phillies signed reliever Oscar Villarreal to a minor-league deal yesterday. Villarreal, who missed the entire 2009 season recovering from Tommy John surgery, will not be invited to spring training.

Eagles hire Draft Consultant
The Eagles hired Phil Savage as a player personnel consultant for the 2010 draft, the team announced Thursday.
Savage will work in draft preparation and player evaluation in the Southeast. Savage will work with new general manager Howie Roseman and director of player personnel Ryan Grigson.
