Eagles front-runners for Tony Gonzalez?

The Philadelphia Eagles rank ahead of the Atlanta Falcons in prospective haggling for Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Tony Gonzalez, according to Don Banks of SI.com.

Per the report, the Eagles have assigned a third-round value via a trade for Gonzalez, who wants out of Kansas City. However, the Chiefs are looking for a second-round draft pick.

And the Chiefs, Banks theorizes, may be sensitive to the predictable fallout of second-guessing if they unload Gonzalez at a discounted price.

Originally the Falcons went out there and said they would spend a 2nd rounder for Tony Gonzalez, but now that the ball is in their (Atlanta’s) court it does not seem to be the case.  With all the talks of  the Falcons going after OSU’s Brandon Pettigrew, which is theirs for the taken.

With this all being said I would be great to get Tony Gonzalez, were talking about one of the BEST TIGHT ENDS of all time and a FOR SURE Hall of Famer here.  I would be in shock if we picked him up for a 3rd round and would be loving it!
