Phirst place Phillies and injury updates

Don’t look now but the Phillies are rollin. Winning 8 of their last 10 games all in which having the injury bug hit them. Hopefully this injury bug is gone and players start getting healthy again so that we can have our team good to go soon here. Phills pitching is getting the job done, everyone but Halladay seem to be getting by and it sure is nice to have Blanton back in action right now we just need a setup man and closer. Phillies called up catcher Hoover the other day after Ruiz tweeked himself and Schneider found himself on the 15day DL for a strained left achilles. Although Ruiz after missing 3 games said that he is ready and good to go and more then likely will start tonight against the Pirates. Regardless the Phills are still ROLLIN, and speaking of Rollin as long as an examination by Phillies team doctors goes well Monday, the shortstop will be leading off against the Pirates at Citizens Bank Park later in the day. Great news to have him back in the line-up.

While we do have some guys getting healthy we have others that are still on the DL. This list includes, Ryan Madson (60 day), Happ and Lidge both on the 15 day dl. While both Happ and Lidge are making progress and both seem to be finally possibly coming off their injuries Charlie himself said he will not take any chances here and make sure they get the extra rest that they need so when they come back they are 100%. And I feel that is the correct way to handle this.
Meanwhile a very healthy Ben Fransisco has seen a huge DECREASE in at bats and even on the field. He has only been to the plate for a total of 19 times so far this season in 14 games. But do to RAUUUUUL’s lack of being amazing this year Fransisco could see some more at bats. Esp due to Raul’s performance against Left Handed pitchers.

All in all Phillies are looking good, and still are the best 1-9 in the NL hands down. Look forward to seeing how they finish out the home stretch here before the All-Star break.
