Posted by fanofphilly on Sunday, August 5th, 2012

Today Howie stepped up to the podium and announced that Andy Reid was absent from early morning workouts due to the passing of his son Garrett Reid.  First and foremost my heart and prayers go out to the Reid family and the whole Eagles organization.  Now let me say this… I do no like using […]

Flyers HUGE FA signings

Posted by fanofphilly on Thursday, July 5th, 2012

Flyers announce 2 signings today. Ruslan Fedotenko – returns back to the team but this time almost 10 years later hes coming back.  He will not be a player that will light the lamp often for us but he will bring solid depth and SIZE.  Something that we needed after losing Jagr and JVR.  Regardless […]

Day 2 of the NFL Draft.

Posted by fanofphilly on Saturday, April 24th, 2010

So day 2, wow what an interesting day. We knew that Philly was going to do things that involved the following. Trade down / Trade for established players / Pick someone that made us say “WHAT THE” / Trade for picks next year.

And did they ever accomplish 2 of those, the WHAT THE factor and Trading down.

With their first pick in the 2nd round, you know that one we got for Donovan McNabb, the Eagles made me a very very happy man and drafted Safety from South Flordia, Nate Allen. This kid is going to be the next coming of something special on this team. Please check the “SCOUTING REPORT” that I will give the reports and videos that will get you guys pumped up for this guy like normal. But getting back to Allen, I am so glad the Eagles chose him and did not fall into the hype of Taylor Mays. Allen will be a starter almost instantly for us and will be great for years to come.

The Eagles then traded their 2nd down and down and down to aquire a total of 3 extra picks in the 4th round. The picks the Eagles acquired are as followed:
7 (105) Eagles (From Browns)
23 (121) Eagles – is their own pick
24 (122) Eagles (From Packers)
27 (125) Eagles (From Cowboys)

Finally their pick was up in the 3rd round, personally thinking they would go OL / CB I think they shocked us all with drafting a kid that brought the “WHO THE” affect. Daniel Te’O-Nesheim – DE/LB, Univ. Washington. Very interesting pick especially considering our 1st round draft pick was DE Brandon Graham. Check the bottom of the page though to see what I really think of him.

So all in all the Eagles I feel had a very successful day 2 in the draft. They acquired more picks in a draft that is still very deep and a lot of GREAT players can be had. So now what do we expect from day 3? Well again the Eagles have 4 picks in the 4th round so I expect them to address the CB position maybe 2 times, OL and LB. Look for something like this

105 – CB Dominique Franks then 121 – CB Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, 122 – LB AJ Edds 125 – OL Bruce Campbell

in the 5th round I expect something like this

134 – S Myron Rolle 146 – RB Joe McKnight or C Matt Tennant or C Eric Olsen

And after that your guess is as good as mine. But thats what I would like to see happen.
