Eagles roster suffers its first blow. Should they go for Atogwe?

Eagles went out this year and did their typical low risk high reward strategy. Well that plan came to a quick end when they went out and signed FA Marlin Jackson former #1 round draft pick from the Colts. Getting carted off the field yesterday was the highlight (if you could) of the day. Clearly looking as if he was in pain which was not a good thing for the former double MCL tear’ee. Gasps and automatic speculation began saying it was yet another knee injury for him. But that was not the case, thankfully for him I suppose. For the Eagles it did not look any better either, tests came back and revealed that it was indeed a bad injury, one that will likely keep him out all year placing him on the IR immediately. Diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles tendon in his right leg. Kind of a sad story here because I was really looking forward to seeing what he could do in a Eagles style defense, good player plagued by injuries, hopefully he has the will power and strength to bounce back from this yet again, if not his NFL career could very well be over.

At 12am this morning Rams pro-bowl Saftey Oshiomogho Atogwe became a FREE AGENT. If you were the Eagles would you go out there and snag him up? I surely would… he fits the bill for the Eagles and is still young, at 28. We know that Mikell is not getting any younger and will soon be at the Eagles retirement age. Atogwe and Allen back there would be a tadem that we could see for years to come and one to get very excited over!
