Arizona Openly Taking Offers for Boldin

This is something the Cardinals had been coy and shy about in the past. Everyone has been saying the entire off-season that Anquan Boldin should / is going to be traded. The only ones in denial were the Arizona Cardinals. They flat out refused to answer questions or comment and stated that they were just rumors.

In one interview back on March 24, Arizona Central quoted General Manager Rod Graves saying, “We still recognize him (Boldin) as a core player and one that we would like to extend, but I think we have to remain open at all times to possibilities. To this point, we have not made any considerations for a trade, and we’re focused primarily on trying to make this relationship beneficial for our team.”

Now it was reported on the Arizona Cardinals homepage that General Manager Rod Graves says, “We just think it is prudent for us to evaluate all our options.”

The 2 most intriguing things about this for Eagles Fans is:

1. Arizona FINALLY publicly announced they are willing to trade Boldin. (They just haven’t publicly named there price)

2. Eagles General Manager Tom Heckert, in an interview today announced that it would be highly unlikely for the Eagles to package both 1st round draft picks together to move up in the draft. Something that many of us felt was going to happen. But the most important thing was what he said later. He stated, “When you have two first-round picks, people are going to call you on certain guys. If there’s a guy we thought was worth it, we would do it.”

Now I could be reading too much into this, BUT I feel that the Arizona Cardinals are yelling if you want Boldin, “show me the money.” While the Eagles are saying, “Come on down, be the next contestant on the Eagles’ the price is right.” This is the best news that Eagles fans could hope for. Anquan Boldin is a tall, strong, dominant receiver that will change the make up of our offense. This would be our 2005 T.O. addition that finally puts us over the top. I truly believe that if this deal gets done, that there isn’t a team in the NFL that can beat us except ourselves.

Sweet Dreams Eagles Fans…………..I know I will tonight.
