Phillies sign Polanco

Wow some great things going on right now in Philly sports.  Well allow me to re-phrase that one.  There sure are a lot of checks being signed and people being added to Philadelphia teams right now.  And for the better.  While the Flyers and the Sixers are struggling to stay above .250 in their last 10 games they are bringing people up, and even the Phillies jumped into the action in bringing people back.

Our one that we thought got away is back.  The one that Chase Utley replaced is yet back again.  That is correct, the Phillies have nailed the man they wanted.  Polanco is back.  This time not to play a position that he is used to but only playing in 1/4 of his professional career.  But its not only his ability to have great defense but also what he can do at the plate that will help this team.

While at first I was not crazy about this signing, I guess you could say I had a mini man crush on the thoughts of Figgins coming here.  After looking at some stats and reading a bunch of articles I quickly forgot how much I liked Palanco to begin with.  3 years for 18 million is not a bad price tag either.

Here are Polanco’s stats

So back-up catcher in lock.  3b in lock.  Utility man locked.  now all we need is a good bull-pen pitcher and MAYBE another starter.

Whats your thoughts on Polanco coming back, and do you think that he is the right man for the job?
