Eagles updates

Ok so I missed 2 weeks. Maybe I should miss more because back to back wins here. Eagles last 2 games were wins, and not just a straight up win but both being COMEBACK wins.

Last week we play DAH Bears in which I predicted a close game that came down to the end in which CHI would pull it off. Thankfully I was wrong, and the Eagles held on and won. Meanwhile Devin Hester decided to show us his finer side. Please check below.

and also this video for some further unwanted but yet very funny laughs.

And this past week when the Eagles faced the Redskins, which this team always scares me, and squeeked out a win. Andy decided to roll the dice quite a bit in this game and almost ended up paying for it. Eagles yet another heroic comeback win here and securing sole position of 2nd place in the division and so far securing the top Wild Card spot if the season were to end now. We will see how this holds up.

In other news. Justice signed an extension with the Eagles. The extension is for four years, which will keep him in Philadelphia through the 2013 season. According to a league source, the total deal is worth $18.15 million, including a $6-million signing bonus. I think that this signing says a lot about what the Eagles are thinking of Shawn Andrews right now and how they feel about him being an Eagle.

Brent Celek signs an extension with the Eagles as well. A 6 year deal worth about 4.8 million a year with a nice little bonus of 11million guaranteed. While the avg for TE’s is 5.5million a year with some added bonus’s Celek is playing WELL ABOVE the average and good for the Eagles for yet signing another young kid to long contract that will be underpaid. Here’s what Celek has to say about the contract himself.
“I’ll tell you right now that I’m set and I’m happy with my deal,” Celek said. “I can promise you that I won’t be up here complaining about my deal (in a few years), because they put trust in me by signing me early and giving me financial security for the rest of my life. I owe it to them to play out my deal.”
Gotta love that right? I don’t think this is a poke at any current or past Philly player but still ironic and funny.

Eagles Brian Westbrook is still seeking opinions and is said to be doing a lot better. Whether it is not known now if he will play again this season, or even ever again its good to see that he is at least recovering well. Eagles DeSean Jackson also with a concussion seems to be fine so far this week. Eagles will closely monitor him and evaluate his status come this weekend.

In light of all of this the Eagles now only have 3 healthy WR’s on their roster. Avant, Maclin, Brown. Expect Brown to see some extended action and due to this as well the Eagles have former Penn State wideout Jordan Norwood up from the practice squad and corner Ramzee Robinson is cut.
