Phillies place Ruiz on 15 day DL

The Philadelphia Phillies have placed catcher Carlos Ruiz on the 15-day disabled list with a strained oblique muscle in his right side.

Ruiz was injured in the Phillies’ 10-3 loss at Colorado on Friday.

The Phillies called up catcher Lou Marson from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to take Ruiz’s roster spot.

Chris Coste started behind the plate for Philadelphia at Coors Field on Saturday night, and should again Sunday afternoon.

No big deal here, he should be back soon!
