As if you all did not already know, we make it back to the World Series which is a task within itself… We played the NY i cannot stand them Yankees that buy championships.  I really thought we were going to take it to game 7, as did the Phillies.  Well that whole series can be summed up in a couple of words.  Allow me to demonstrate.

Phillies and Yankees both Pitch very well.   Chase Utley owned the Yankees, as did Matsui and Damon to the Phillies.  The difference in the series?  Yankees had 2 ppl that owned the Phillies while the Phillies only had 1 person that owned the Yankees.  Advantage Yankees final series showed from that 2-1 odd.  Yankees won series 4-2.

Pretty upset that we lost to the Yankees, other then that happy that we made it back just sucks that our bats went dry.  But lets look at the things that kept us from winning the WS again this year minus our bats.

• Even though I have enjoyed watching him play, Feliz was a crutch and did nothing with his bat minus that game tying homerun that Lidge blew anyways.  His defense is great but lets be honest, we need someone a little more balanced.
• Speaking of blown….Lidge, just when I thought and I think everyone else though he was over that hurdle…he smacked us with reality again blowing another opportunity for us to go up an potentialy tie the series.
• Madson, man when your on, your amazing.  But when your not hitting the strike zone, man you suck.  I need more then a 2 pitch setup man.
• Our bench.  Did we honestly really think that Stairs would pound a HR again in a prayer situation?  And really… Eric Beardlett… we need to get someone that can be productive off the bench for us.

You tie all of that in and you figure its AMAZING that we even made it to the World Series.  Lets see what we do in the offseason, though I am VERY VERY excited for next season already.
