Well it was as much of a one sided game as it could of been. Cliff Lee came out with a battle head to head with CC. Lee won that battle if you didn’t know already. The half man half robot (cyborg) Cliff Lee threw an amazing 9 full innings for the Complete Game. Topped those numbers off with 10 strike outs, 0 walks, giving up only 6 hits and 1 run that was UN-earned by an error (on J-Roll). Yankees did not score until the 9th inning while the Philles drew blood pretty fast. Chase Utley decided to have many great at bats vs CC and on his first at bat he decided to make him pay. YARDAGE!!!! This happened in the 3rd inning for the Phillies to break out scoring the first run in the 2009 World Series. Chase also followed with another solo shot in the 6th inning off of CC as well. If Chase starts hitting and warming up this could be a very quick series.
After that moment the Phillies never really looked back, Cliff continued his domination on the mound while the Yankees tried everything POSSIBLE to slow him down. A-Roid fell victim to a 4 ab 3 so night while Teixeira had 4 ab himself and 2 so as well. Jeter seemed to be the only person that could hit off of Lee, other then that he was LIGHTS OUT. Surprised after such a long top of the ninth inning in which the Phillies scored 2 runs, although if anyone saw the game we all know Utley did not strike out and should of walked to load the bases, but hey, who’s counting right? Regardless as I was saying I’m surprised Charlie allowed Cliff to finish the game in the semi-cool weather that we have right now. The end result was still fantastic, Lee got in a jame but quickly got out of it by striking out the last two batter to pick up his 3rd Playoff game with 10 strike-outs. Machine? Human? Robot? Cyborg? You make that decision… hes a BEAST either way.
Lets not even DISCUSS his defense that he showcased, I will just show you….
