Lee Blew away the Rockies

As the wind decided to pay us a visit today which made a lot of pop-ups very difficult to handle, right around that corner was Cliff Lee. What an amazing job he has done today while he might not of had his 10 strike outs he still held the Rockies who can be a very dangerous team to a stand-still. Lee threw 4 strikes-outs and only gave up 6 hits all game. At one point in the game Cliff Lee retired 16 straight batters faced, unreal right? It was not until the last out of the top of the 9th as to when the Rockies got their first run of the game. Charlie went ahead and gave Lee the headnod to finish the game out and boy did he ever. He also helped his own cause going 1-2 at the plate with a STOLEN BASE. Cliff Lee as the belated beloved Harry would say “YOU ARE THE MAN”. Who needs Lidge closing the game when you have pitchers like the Phillies do.

The Phillies hit the ball well, about as well as you could ask for them to hit with all of that wind. No long balls but good solid hitting. Great win, awesome to get this one under our belt and hopefully we can continue this going down the stretch. Phillies win 5-1, and lead the series 1-0

Phillies become the first team to win the first playoff game of the 2009 MLB Playoffs.
