Can we still get Boldin?

Guys we can still get Boldin, lets honestly think about this what are the things that the Eagles were going to do with their first round picks? Trade for a player either a WR or LT or Package both to try to move up in the draft to get a LT, or Draft 2 rookies.

So lets analyze all of these options….

First lets discuss what the FO has stated that we need. LT and RB those are our #1 and #2 going into the draft, as I’m sure most of you will not disagree with me here. So we were going to use a first rounder on a LT and possibly a RB (which we also stated that we could get a good RB in the later rounds). As long as WR’s are out there and this team does not have a star WR, we will always be in the talks for ALL TRADES involving a WR, and we should know this by now. But our main concern as most of you I think would agree has been a LT and RB. So now lets discuss the 3 possibilities that we had.

#1 Trade for a player either a WR or LT – Just so happens we manned up and pulled the trigger on this one. Did we get the best LT out there? No because he resigned with Carolina, but we were in the talks as #1 team to get him if he didn’t resign. So we went after the next best thing out there, and got him for a 1st (28th overall) and a 4th and a late draft next year! Is this a steal? Not a steal, but this guy is a very verygood tackle that will work GREAT in our system. We just built a WALL with our O-line in a division that is STACKED at the D-Line. Great MOVE! Now we still have a 21st pick which I will get to in a minute lets move on to the next one though

#2 Package both to try to move up in the draft to get a LT – This idea right here just TORE ME UP inside. I mean why would we even think of going out on a limb to get Jason Smith, who granted I think will be great in 2-3 years from now, when we could go out and only spend a 1st for Jason Peters (which was proven from the deal that went down today). I mean really why would we trade 2 picks for someone who isn’t even proven in the NFL yet. At least Peter’s has proven himself. I am not big against moving up in the draft unless is doesn’t cost that much, so this idea was honestly silly to start with. Don’t get me wrong I love the draft but what I don’t love is these kids coming out of the draft anymore, just cocky kids that don’t know what to do with the fortune & fame, and theres nothing out there that can analyze that. Go with the SURE BET! Next
#3 Draft a LT and a RB Well with us trading our 28th pick to Peter’s that blows this idea out of the water. Now we have a 21st pick that we very well could pick up a running back for still. I still would love to see Knowshawn Moreno here because that kid is pretty damn good. So with our 21st if we dont decide to trade that I would be pretty damn sure were going to go ahead and draft a RB. But as I said earlier we have stated before that we can draft a RB in the later rounds. I really cant think of another person / position that the Eagles would want someone as a “HUGE” play maker or “IMPACT” player then WR. I mean we have the possibility of Braylon Edwards, Chad Johnson, and Anquan Boldin out there. Out of those 3 Boldin would fit with our system the best.

Heres what I think. I think we do indeed trade our other 1st rounder and maybe a 3rd to AZ for Boldin. I think Boldin becomes an Eagle next year and we are all in Heaven and drooling from the mouth. Then I think the Eagles go out and draft either Donald Brown (RB from Conn) or Rashad Jennings (RB from Liberty), personally I like them both, as an every down back I like Brown, but as a get in your face 3rd down and goal-line back I love me some Jennings. Then after that we bundle some of our picks to get back into the 3rd round and maybe go DE, LB, TE, CB and do the same when we get into the 4th round, go after a DE LB TE CB.

I think this is very much in our reach and we have the PICKS, and CAP to make this ALL POSSIBLE. Imagine this guys, really though, wrap your mind around this for a second and you tell me how you would feel if this indeed came true.
