Are you sure McNabb will not be traded?

Well some, such as Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Andy Reid says nope, no way Donovan gets traded.  He will be an Eagle next year (meaning this year).  Those are the words he has said, while others whisper in the background about how McNabb already has one foot out the door.  The font office ready to deal and see what they could get for him..  Whatever your feelings or opinions might be, regardless if you feel that McNabb should stay or go while were 1 month away from the draft expect the trade talk to stir up big time.  Sure we could sit here and argue for the next hour or two about #5’s pro’s and con’s but I think since we are all Eagles fans here we should know how Mr #5 plays by now so no sense getting into any of that crap.  So time to move on then lets discuss what this post is really about.  Usually I pay no attention to this crap but the talks have become more and more “whispered about” each day.

Theres a trade brewing in the makes of Seattle and Philly.  At first this trade was believed to be a 3 way trade that went like this…

Seattle trade New Orleans their 6th overall pick for Reggie Bush and the Saints 32nd pick, which then the SeaHwaks will trade Philadelphia that 32nd that they got from the Saints for Donovan McNabb.

Now it looks as if it may become 2 separate trades.  Reggie Bush and the 6th overall to Seattle for Julius Jones and the 32nd pick.  Not a bad trade when you think about it to be honest.  Reggie will become a premiere back which he never really had the chance to become and will be reunited with Pete Carroll.

Donovan will be traded to the SeaHawks for their 14th overall pick.  Donovan will be the #1 QB there and will make them an have a fighting chance to enter the playoffs.  The Eagles will be able to finally allow Kolb (who they feel is their future) to get the head nod saying the team is his to lead.

If this goes through this is very interesting for the Eagles.  They will now have 2 draft picks in the 1st round.  I would say there are very many outcomes here but theres two that I would like to talk about.  Eagles have the 14th and 24th overall picks.  Like I said there are a lot of scenarios that could happen here…. a lot of people would say the Eagles would get the Center that they need but lets remember… we need a “filler” center for the time being which leads me to believe that they will pick up a vet or go with what they have, regardless they will wait to make their move until the NFL realease’s they “give away” picks.  Heres what I like the best inside my brain, one of two outcomes (assuming this trade happens).

#1 Eagles trade up.  Eagles trade their 14th overall and maybe their 2nd rnder or top 3rd rounder to get up in the top 5-7 IF Safety Eric Berry is still on the board.  If he is still on the board I do not see how the Eagles cannot make this move… I mean really some say hes the best saftey to come out of the draft in the past 10 yrs.

#2 Eagles keep both their pics and draft wise.  #14 – S Earl Thomas… reminds me of a guy a lot of us knew well, Brian Dawkins.  This guy can play “outfielder” with the best of them but also lays a LICKIN like Dawkins does.  Although do not be surprised to see the Eagles take Pierre-Paul here either the big DE that is rated the #1 DE in this draft if hes availble.  #24 pick – LB Sean Weatherspoon this kid is special.  Has a motor like no other and could be used really well in the Eagles blitz happy defense.

It’s getting closer ppl, lets hope the Eagles make all the right moves this draft and we can have another stud or two like we do every year.  Regardless this is the year you DO NOT want to stockpile on picks for the next year, this is a “special” year in draft terms.  A year that happens maybe once every 10-15 years we may not see a deeper draft then this one here.  Very exicted to see what the Eagles do here.  GO BIRDS!!!

Seattle seems unlikely to trade for McNabb after acquiring Whitehurst from SD.

Unfortunately, it looks like Andy really mismanaged the whole QB situation, waiting too long to pull the trigger on a move. The whole thing reeks of indecision. Andy wasn’t sure who he really wanted, causing him to overvalue his assets ad nauseum. There were a half dozen landing spots for McNabb before free agency began. Now, the only viable places are Minnesota and Carolina. The Vikings seem to be expecting Favre back, and Andy won’t wait until July to make a deal. Carolina apparently doesn’t have the goods to get a deal done, and I doubt McNabb would agree to an extension there anyway. If the Eagles were going to trade McNabb, they had to do it while there was a demand for him. Now, they might be able to eke out a second round pick for him, but at that price, Reid will probably decide to just keep him and hope to catch lightning in a bottle this year. Meanwhile, I can only imagine what McNabb as 2010 starter does for our chances of resigning Kolb next offseason.

yeah but things always change come trade day…weird things happen that day lol.

Can always keep our fingers crossed i suppose. I think we will resign Kolb for sure, and that has to get done before the seasons starts
