{"id":962,"date":"2009-07-21T15:51:55","date_gmt":"2009-07-21T20:51:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.homeboyznetwork.com\/?p=962"},"modified":"2009-07-21T15:51:55","modified_gmt":"2009-07-21T20:51:55","slug":"sixers-lock-up-jrue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.homeboyznetwork.com\/?p=962","title":{"rendered":"Sixers lock up Jrue!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The 76ers signed Jrue Holiday, the 17th overall pick in the recent NBA draft, to a contact, team president and general manager Ed Stefanski announced today.<\/p>\n<p>Terms of the deal were not announced.<\/p>\n<p>The 19-year-old Holiday, an early entry candidate for the draft following his freshman season at UCLA, was named to the Pac-10 all-freshman team last season after averaging 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.6 steals in 35 games played.<\/p>\n<p>Holiday was paired in the Bruins backcourt along with senior Darren Collison, who was selected with the 21st overall pick by New Orleans.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Holiday started all five games for the Sixers\/Nets team in the Orlando Pro Summer League.
