{"id":694,"date":"2009-05-30T07:27:53","date_gmt":"2009-05-30T12:27:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.homeboyznetwork.com\/?p=694"},"modified":"2009-05-30T07:27:53","modified_gmt":"2009-05-30T12:27:53","slug":"some-news-from-eagles-nest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.homeboyznetwork.com\/?p=694","title":{"rendered":"Some News from Eagles Nest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>They&#8217;re not in rookie camp anymore.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Eagles put a bow on their minicamp involving rookies and selected veterans yesterday and the team&#8217;s first two draft picks are ready to show the full squad how much they&#8217;ve learned.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Wide receiver <strong>Jeremy Maclin<\/strong>, the team&#8217;s first-round pick, said any reservations he had about improving his intermediate routes were eased after six days of organized team activities held over two weeks.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;They&#8217;re coming along just great,&#8221; Maclin said. &#8220;I think that&#8217;s no longer a question anymore. . . . I think anybody that comes from college has to get used to running routes at the pro level.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There had been some question about Maclin&#8217;s adjusting to the Eagles&#8217; West Coast scheme after playing in Missouri&#8217;s spread offense. But the 21-year-old didn&#8217;t seem too concerned about the transition. His play during noncontact drills reflected as much.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s just a different style offense,&#8221; Maclin said. &#8220;That&#8217;s it.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Running back <strong>LeSean McCoy<\/strong> has a larger playbook to comprehend, but the second round selection out of Pittsburgh said he&#8217;ll be more confident with the offense when the rest of the veterans return Tuesday for the start of eight more sessions. But how would he grade his first rookie camp?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It&#8217;s not about my playing or my ability,&#8221; McCoy said. &#8220;It&#8217;s like trying to learn what I got and trying to execute it on the field. You can never play full go when you don&#8217;t actually know what you&#8217;re doing. So it&#8217;s too hard to grade.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<h4><em>Ingram back<\/em><\/h4>\n<p><em>Tight end <strong>Cornelius Ingram<\/strong> admitted to a few tense moments when he realized he injured the same knee that cost him his senior season at Florida.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>On Wednesday, the rookie suffered a left knee contusion when he collided with safety Rashad Baker during 11 on 11 drills. Ingram was slow to rise and limped to the sideline.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I&#8217;ll be honest, I was a little scared at that time,&#8221; he said. &#8220;But once I got up, the pain started to ease away a little bit.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Ingram left practice early and sat out most of Thursday, but returned yesterday and, other than wearing a black sleeve over his knee, looked fine.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I went to the doctor yesterday morning and he checked everything out,&#8221; said Ingram, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in August. &#8220;Everything looked fine and I&#8217;m out here running around.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<h4><em>McNabb sighting<\/em><\/h4>\n<p><em>Quarterback <strong>Donovan McNabb<\/strong>, back from his off-season Arizona residence, worked out at the NovaCare complex yesterday.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>McNabb, who was unavailable for comment, apparently will practice with next week. The team&#8217;s public relations staff does not anticipate McNabb meeting with the media next week. McNabb&#8217;s desire for a new or re-worked contract prompted much debate and discussion in the off-season. -philly.com<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ingram is fine!\u00a0 No worries and don&#8217;t get all flustered here.\u00a0 He is fine and will be fine.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t wait for camp at Leigh to start, I will be down there as much as possible.\u00a0 I can&#8217;t wait for the season to start already.\u00a0 While I love sports in general, Football is my #1.\u00a0 This team looks so exciting already.<\/p>\n<p>Oh and Macho Harris is doing just fine too in case you were wondering \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They&#8217;re not in rookie camp anymore.
