Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie\u00a0termed Andy Reid, “in every way, the epitome of what you’re looking for,” during a news conference to announce that Reid has agreed to a 3-year extension that will keep him with the Eagles through 2013.<\/p>\n
Terms were not disclosed, but a league source said Reid, also the vice president of football operations, will make between $5 million and $6 million per year, making him among the three highest paid coaches in the league.<\/p>\n
“I’m just a piece of the puzzle,” Reid said. “By my waist size, I’m a big piece, but in reality, I’m just a piece of the puzzle.”<\/p>\n
Lurie said preseason discussions pointed toward Reid wanting an extension. “It was inevitable. There was no point waiting,” Lurie said.<\/p>\n
He called the extension “a great message to everyone in the organization, particularly the players.”<\/p>\n
\u201cOur No. 1 priority by far is to win a Super Bowl,\u201d Lurie said. \u201cOne of the reasons for the contract is the obsession and prioritization of that.\u201d<\/p>\n
While some may not like this idea I actually love it.\u00a0 I think its great to allow Reid to continue here.\u00a0 As long as hes not making the play calling hes a fantastic coach.\u00a0 And I really dont like saying this but D-Mac you have been my boy for a lot of years man, but unless you prove you can get it done in a non-choke situation I think its time to turn the page and go with youth.\u00a0 Kolb looks good and showed that he can come out and minus 3 mistakes he can roll with the best of them.\u00a0 From a fantasy football players insight Kolb came in those two games and did better then Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, Im not comparing him to them but I’m just saying…..<\/p>\n
And I know another thing too, Brent Celek had 8 receptions one game and 10 receptions another with a touchdown.\u00a0 Both of those games going over 100 yards.\u00a0 Who knows… if its not broke dont fix it right?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
