Brett Myers continues his steady progression toward what he hopes is a return to the Phillies’ pitching staff this season.<\/p>\n
Myers, who had surgery on his right hip June 4 for a bone spur and labral debridgement, threw his second simulated inning yesterday morning against members of the Clearwater Threshers.<\/p>\n
“I felt good with no problems,” Myers said. “I threw another 20 pitches.”<\/p>\n
As to when he will pitch next, Myers said, “I’ve got a two-inning simulated game [possibly Wednesday or Thursday], then a rehab game after that.”<\/p>\n
Myers said he did not know when the rehab game would be. He was 4-3 with a 4.66 ERA this season, last pitching on May 27.<\/p>\n
Also, reliever Clay Condrey continued his rehab from a strained oblique and said he is close to returning to the mound.<\/p>\n
